This study in monochrome is a black-and-white photography series captured while hiking the Dolomites in northern Italy. Shot entirely on an iPhone, the project began as a personal challenge: to better understand contrast, form, and tonality by removing color from the equation. To aid this shift in perception, I set my phone display to grayscale—forcing myself to see the world without color and focus purely on light, shadow, and structure. The result is a quiet study in restraint, rhythm, and the raw beauty of alpine landscapes.
